There is nothing like spending hours on one of these, nodding off on the screen …
Gerardo began his international education in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he first experienced the local culture and its deep focus on family. He observed how the community’s religious background fostered a family-oriented environment with a strong devotion to family history.
It was during this time that he was first introduced to the field of genealogy.
He found the field fascinating, as it resonated with his own upbringing and the strong Latino influence of his family structure. He immersed himself in this new discipline, recognizing the profound importance of preserving family traditions and memories.
Following high school, Gerardo continued his education at Utah State University, where he focused his energy on achieving his academic goals. During this time, he also spent countless hours in family history centers across the Salt Lake area, learning from some of the most respected investigators in the industry. Mentored by experts who shared his passion, he spent hours on film readers, meticulously screening records to expand his own family tree. Under their guidance, he became an exceptional student, mastering the art of record analysis and efficient research.
He began by researching records from Argentina and Chile, the countries of his family’s origin. He quickly became an expert in reading historical Catholic scripts dating from the 1700s through the 2000s, and developed the specialized skill of deciphering names that were frequently misspelled by local scribes and priests.
To broaden his expertise, Gerardo also mastered U.S. research techniques. His mentors taught him to navigate the U.S. Census and the Family History Library, emphasizing the attention to detail required to distinguish between individuals with common names—invaluable skills that rounded out his specialization.
After graduating from Utah State University with both a Bachelor’s and an Associate’s Degree, he returned to Argentina to begin his professional genealogical career. He expressed his gratitude to Utah for providing an education he could not have found elsewhere. His first professional role was as an onsite investigator for Legacy Tree Genealogists, one of the world’s leading firms. This experience taught him the level of devotion required when entrusted with a client’s family history—a passion that he and his team now bring to every project.
Twenty-five years later, Gerardo leads his own agency. He has logged thousands of research hours and trained a specialized team to help clients discover their ancestors in Argentina and Chile. He remains grateful for the mentoring he received in Salt Lake City from experts who have become a permanent part of his own history. Our agency instills this same passion into every investigation, providing detailed and concise results that make you feel as though you are right here with us, turning over every stone to piece together your family story.
